Hi All,

I registered here a while ago and have been lurking,

me and dad went halfs on a 1987 defender 90 a year or so ago, this week he has baught him self a newer one and given me his half so im now a full landy owner :D

and i love it :D

also a big thanks to all forum members for the wealth of information on this forum! has help out a few times over the last year with queries appoligies it has taken this long to say thank you :D

Dang messed up already! And only on me second post :p will correctly refer too as the 90 from now on :D

Cheers and it is actually 4 tone... as the other door is white and the bonnet is a different shade of red.

It seems that is the standard colouring here in cornwall :D

There is no difference at all between the two they share the same parts.
The only reason they changed the name was because of the disco.
The only difference was the 200tdi power plant.

Sorry but I had to stop counting me rivets and respond to this thread. and yu is incorrect for starters the defender has diskbraked rear axles an intercooler and a different rad. as well as the engine changes. :p

You are wrong!!! The 200tdi FENDER has drum brakes on the rear lol

And the rad and intercooler was an after thought
 
This is where i really throw a spanner in the works, as mine has a 300tdi engine, intercooler and disk brakes on the front and rear....

ok so yea it was someone's project before i had it :p

they spent a lot of money on it just never got it sprayed :D

So does mine plus the respray and other bits, spent thousands

Glad to hear your enjoying it.

Mine's an '86 .. and its not a 'proper' defender either :D
that said, its got a 200TDi 'mill' in it.. and not much else other than the sticker thing that says Land Rover 90 on its snout is 'original', i don't suppose .

For me, it doesn't matter a ratz-ass ...
its still a landy,
its mine,
its loveable because of all its irritating quirks, not in spite of them
its paid for..
its 'legal',..
& I'm more than happy with it .... and to that end,... Job Done really :D :D

Guid for you young sir ... just enjoy having it. :)
