Hi all you landy lover hoping someone can help me to inderstand how the free wheeling hubs work on my series 11a.
how do i know they are on as or how do they work as i have never had a landy with these hubs before.

hope someone out there can advise me

they disconnect drive shaft from drive flange ,need to run them so they a not free wheeling from time to time as drive shaft lubricates top swivel pin ,i always take them off and replace with standard drive flanges

you will get no power to the front wheels unless they are both in 4x4 mode

only time you could possibly want them is if you are driving on the road in high range, but even then they are not really necessary

If you'v only got a hand full of HP and a yellow knob as on the older landys then they are worth it but for the newer landys then with perment 4wd then there is no point.
On my 2a it makes the differance of 5mph on the topend.

Morning Daft
Only down hill with the wind behind me.

Went down the Hogs back yesterday over taking everything
45Mph down the outside lane and nothing came close to catching me.

mine will do 55mph on a flat without any wind. but anything over that and she is revving too high for my liking, need an overdrive or something :doh:

on a cold day at minus 10 you can really feel the drag of the front transmission. yes they work. not a lot agreed. but every little helps!

Didn't bother refitting mine when I changed the axle. Too much hassle having to get out and fiddle with the bloody things every time I need 4wd. If you do mostly road driving they're a slight benefit.
