thanks mines well overdue then it looked good no cracks in belt ect but will get it swapped as soon as i get a chance
I think they also specify a time limit (not sure but maybe 8 years) mine looked almost new but only done 38k miles.
 
Or at 10 years old. Which ever is reached first. My specialist says 120k miles. Had mine done at @115k, but it was nearly at the 10 year mark.
 
Regarding the 1800 rpm vibration story.
Managed to take a look under my FL2 today I was hoping that the exhaust heat sheilds may be loose and touching the exhaust, but they were fine
The search goes on.
 
Unfortunately the 1800rpm vibration thing seems quite common with no real explanation or cure from what I've read. Mine does it, but it's never got any worse and sometimes I don't really notice it. I'll mention it to my specialist next time it goes in for a service...

Does it happen when crusing at 1800 revs only and in any perticular gear (and speed)? What about 2200 revs and putting into neutral and allowing it to slow naturally down through 1800. Does it do it then?
 
Tis an auto, so can't do the knock it into neutral test, but I could stick it in manual mode to test if it's related to road speed tho'
Like a lot of people, I am working from home at the moment and so haven't driven it for 3 weeks and it looks like I won't be for another 3...
 
Not sure of you've managed to find the problem with regards to the noise from pulley area, I had a noise that I thought was from the pulley area however it was the shield near thee turbo above gearbox. It was modified & now it doesn't sound like a bag of sh*t. Still require new one but not able to source the new part just yet!

I've been doing some checks, when the engine is running there is definitely something on the left side where the drive belt runs, I put a long screwdriver on the power steering pump and it sounds noisy, but I've also noticed something on the front driver's side which sounds like a wheel bearing, need to follow up when the weather picks up again.

I noticed my at lower revs & also when accelerating in lower gears. Sounded really tinny. Had I owned a set of reps then I may have found it myself but it was a garage job for me. It's deceiving because you think it's coming from one area but it's another ‍♂️
 
I had a ‘buzz’ I couldn’t pin down until I replaced my fractured power steering hose a couple of weeks ago. While under the car I noticed the upper bracket holding on the pipe running from the turbo to the inter cooler had fractured.
Took it to a local engineering workshop and they tigged it back on (FOC. Good on them).
Put it all back together and ‘buzz’ gone. Can’t say if it it was rpm specific, but worth checking.

That's a good suggestion, if possible.
I had a feeling my noise was something like an exhaust bracket which had failed, it had that tone to it, hope its something like your bracket which may not be too expensive.
 
I don't have a pic of the bracket in-situ, but here's a shot of one end of the pipe. It's connected to the turbo, at this end, by a short section of hose before snaking its way towards the front of the engine where there is another bracket, before another bit of hose connect it to the intercooler. I only found it because I had to remove the sump guard to recover some tools I'd dropped.
That shiny bit, bottom right of the weld, is where it have been rubbing against something which was probably causing the 'buzz'.
