New to the forum and new to Landrovers.
I've just got a 2007 freelander2 xs manual but has 1 fault.
Cigarette lighter does not work and none of the blend motors work. I've checked all the fuses and also changed R5 relay . If I take the cover off R5 relay and manually move the relay I then get power to the Cigarette lighter but still no power to the blend motors, Any suggestions what to check next or anyone had the same problem

The FL2 has power sockets, not lighter sockets. ;)
But the two in the centre console are on different fuses, so which one isn't working?
The blend motors will need a diagnostic read of the HVAC module to see what codes, but it's reasonably for blend motors to seize up.

The socket nearest the front of the center console fuse45 that works off the same relay as the blend motors R5 in engine compartment fusebox

It's a surprise that the power socket and blend motors are on the same circuit, as both items are under different control.

I'll look out the wiring to see what's connected to what.

The wiring diagram shows that the CJB pulls R5 coil to ground, which then supplies power to all the heater motors and sensors.
So it could well be an issue with the CJB not pulling the relay coil to ground.
You need to check the coil is being pulled to ground, if not then there's an issue with the CJB.

I can't find any relevance to the power socket on that relay, as it seems it only does the HVAC controls.

I'll keep looking.

Found it.
R5 also feeds the front power socket, via fuse 45 (15A) in the battery junction box, as you said.

So if R5 isn't being pulled to ground by the CJB, you need to check all the fuses inside the vehicle, and then trace the wiring from the relay socket in the BJB to the CJB in the vehicle. The wire responsible for switching R5 is a violet/green, and it's pulled to ground. The violet/green goes between the relay 5 coil and a fixed relay on the CJB itself.

Thanks very much for that , I'll have a dig about tomorrow and see if I can trace it

Checked all the fuses tried to trace the green and/violet wire back to cjb but could not find it so had it in to auto electricians today which was pointless really as got told what I already knew and if I wanted them to investigate further they'd have to strip out the dash

b1081-87 blend motor
B1082-87
B1083-87
B1085-87
B1086-87
B1087-4a Lin bus A
B1088-4a Lin bus B
 
Hi,

Bit of an old thread but I have the same issue. does any one know if it was sorted?

Relay 5 is working but it is not being energised from from the Central Electronics Module which I guess is inside the CJB, connector C1BB01A pin 38.
