hi folks hope some one can help me
the other day my wife was driving along in our freelander when it just decided to cut out and now refuses to start had it towed back to my house by rac...i have replaced the camshaft senor which my diagnostic machine gave me has a fault but freelander just will not start has anyone got any idea what the problem could be thnx:confused:

thnx freelaner i think you may be right in saying fuel pump has when you try and start it
you can tell it`s getting no fuel car`nt beleave i wasted £69 on a camshaft sensor if it`s the friggin fuel pump thnx m8 i will check it tomorrow

Does this pump prime? You should hear it if you turn on the ignition with the door open. The pump will run for approximately 2 seconds.

no m8 there is nothing coming from the pump so could it be the pump thats my problem
after i spent £69 on a friggin camshaft sensor...

It could be the pump or relay.
The cam sensor must have been playing up or it wouldn't have logged a fault. Cam sensors do often fail when hot just before they fail completely. If the cam sensor fails when the engine is running a fault will log but the engine will continue to run, this is because the ECU has the set the timing sequence at start up so no longer needs the cam sensor signal until the next start.
