I'm having an issue with tyres. I've had two punctures so far in 3 months, along with sidewall damage on one other tyre. This was all caused by going through lanes it seems. That said, I haven't done anything extreme... The tyres are road biased, but are ok for "20% off road" apparently.

Is it true that there's no AT tyres available for the 17" silly looking alloys? The guy at my local HiQ garage (they've always been very reasonable) said that there's nothing suitable for those wheels. Is this really the case though?

I've been looking for 15" or 16" inch standard steel wheels on ebay, but finding something within reasonable pickup range is proving difficult.

There are no all terrain tyres available for the 17" wheels ,I looked everywhere,I put general grabber 225 55 17 on mine ,they are ok in the snow and not too bad in mud and on grass but they are not an offroad tyre, you will need 15 or 16 inch wheels(loads of a/t tyres in those sizes) what year is your car because alloy wheels from a freelander before 2000/2001 wont fit on a car after that year ,the front callipers are bigger and foul the wheel, where are you? I might know of a set of 16" alloys from a pre 2000 freelander:)

Hi,

My car is on a 51 plate.

So that confirms what the guy from HiQ said. I don't get why Land Rover bothered to make wheels of that size when there's no suitable AT tyres for it!

Whereabouts are you fella as i have a set of 5 steels (without tyres) that i was going to refurb then stick m/ts on. Not sure if you'd be interested?
