Hello to all.

I've just joined today and feel relieved to have found this site. I'm the recent owner of a 2005 Freelander Freestlye and have a question.

I've driven it on the motorway a couple of times and noticed that above 80mph there's a faint, but noticeable pulsating vibration through the front seat which seems to go if you push it to 90mph. I don't do a lot of motorway driving so not a major problem but concerned that something's not quite right, might anyone have any ideas?

If I take my foot off the accelerator the vibrations seem to stop.

Any advise would be gratefully received!

Thank you

Sam

Closer i suppose... :p:rolleyes:

Have a look at your vcu bearings, mine were worn so I took the prop shaft off to change them and it cured the vibration and rumble I had.

Just need to get round to putting the prop back on…:D

Thank you very much, I'll look into this and post the results.

Many thanks

Sam

P.S. Where should I have posted this question?

You generally get a more specific response in the freelander section (or which ever vehicle).
It's worth having a look in there aswell, there might be summat more specific, it might come back once i put the prop on but my bearings are fooked.
There is a sticky in there on how to change them anorl.

Good luck.

Err .... umm, try sticking to the speed limits and the vibration won't even start.

I didnt even know freelanders could do 90+!!! Mine certainly wont :( Well... it might... but it runs out of fuel before I can get there!
