Hello everyone, sorry if there was a previous thread for this!
I need help with My 51plate freelander v6 auto.
I was driving home when this metallic rattling started. It was still driving fine for a while and then suddenly made a crunch noise and it just cut out. There was slight confusion in the gearbox before hand as it wouldn't change gear, only very briefly though. Now it will not start, you can hear the starter motor turning but doesn't sound like it's engaging. I've had so many people say different things but I just want to know if it is gearbox or vcm. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Broken converter flexi plate ? hence no CKP signal and no drive. You need to start investigating, if the starter don't turn the engine remove it and see what is going on.
