Yes, my initials are SW.
Thank you for this info, I wish I fully understood what it meant but I think I get it . I'll pass it on to the garage and I'm sure it'll make sense.
I'm using the Kmaps remap so will gonwoth this option. The LUK clutch you're using, is that an uprated MG ZT-T clutch?
When I do mine I'm going to put in some steel cage bearings at the same time to help try and beef it up and help with longevity!
Do you plan to change gearbox and IRD oil on a higher frequncey?
One last question: Did you use a mixture of Td4 and MG ZT-T coolant hoses?
Thanks again for all this advice.
No, the clutch is the freelander clutch as the MG ZT clutch is designed for use on a Dual mass flywheel.
I haven't heard any groans or noises from my gearbox yet and I'm 500 miles post conversion.
I change the oil annually, I don't feel that changing the oil more often will help change any kind of strength the gearbox has but I use mine as a bit of a toy and workhorse around the farm so if it breaks, it's probably a bit easier for me to fix.
No, I'm still using all the freelander hoses for the coolant as it has the extra take offs for the gearbox cooler. It's just the boost hoses that you need to kind of self engineer. Only the intake pipe for the turbo and half of the intake pipe to the intake manifold is being used from the MG ZT, that's just because it fits easily.
