Good afternoon.
My Freelander2 2010 has Land Rover trailer lights system fitted...How ever its not working.
I have checked the 15 and 40 amp fuses near spare wheel area....(white box) Also tried two other Trailer modules.
Still no lights on trailer board.
Any ideas ..... Regards Tony. PS..do I have to enable the trailer option..if so how ?

It's common for the wiring to corrode inside the plugs. I replaced both of mine with new plugs, correctly sealed with dielectric grease to prevent repeat failures.

Hi

Nodge68. Thanks for getting back to me.

A friend who knows far more than me about electronics, tested the wires to the plug, he could get all the lights to show on a light board...He thought it was the trailer module....Tried two other modules....but no luck...no lights.????

Was the trailer module factory fitted, or a retrofit? If the latter, has the vehicle been programmed to tell it that a trailer module is fitted?. However if it wasn't programmed, it shouldn't actually stop the lights from working, as only the special functionality requires programming.
If the trailer brake lights aren't working, then it's got to be something other than the towing module, as the brake light are passed through the module, the power for them being derived from the CJB directly.

Thank you for your reply.
Trailer brake lights aren't working...I have booked it in to a Land Rover dealer to run a test.
Will let you know the outcome.
Kind regards Tony.
