Right, anyone who is familiar with the last couple of posts will know that I've acquired a freelander 1. I've pretty much got to grips and tested everything but of all the things to get the better of me ... It's the toolkit / jack. I just cannot find the slippery little b@$tards. The obvious place is the rear load space which is where the manual says they are however as it's the HSE model it has a subwoofer built into whic is also pointed out in the manual but it does not say where it has been moved to.

Seriously, where is it??? Any ideas.
 
My first FL was a diesel and the jack and tools were in a bag under the bonnet (on the nearside IIRC)

In my V6 they have always been in the boot locker, but I don't know if that's the right place or they just ended up there!
 
My 2000 1.8 they wer under the bonnet.

I removed them after I put a 2 inch lift on and bigger tyres as it wouldn't go high enough to lift it lol
 
If they aren't under the bonnet (i'm suspecting yours should be in the rear cubby if it's a new shape)

i have a spare toolkit in the plastic box complete apart from the yellow plastic screw peg thingy.
 
they are still inside the cubby box, where they were originaly, but you will not see them until you lift the cover fully up, the bass box hides them and is shaped around them.

Agreed, even with the HSE large speaker there is still sufficient space for the tool/jack-box and it is still held in place with the yellow knob. The cubby-box lid is held shut by a pair of slot headed turn-buckles which can be undone with a coin.
 
If you mean supplying dealer to provide it FOC good thinking.
If you mean you are going to the dealer to buy a new one then I would check out Ebay first as there are several of the type you require listed. Make sure you get the correct wheel-nut socket as I guess that if the jack & box are missing then the security socket is as well?
 
as others have said it should sill be in the cubby box. this is where the locking wheel nut socket is kept as well or have they given it to you seperately?

They're exactly where the manual tells you they are. Lift the lid and you'll see the plastic box the tools are in in there.
 
While on this subject ive just had to replace the wheel brace , with a braker bar and a 22mm socket also the locking wheel nut key , both were well worn , poor quality oem parts:eek:

Tools were missing which the supplying dealer is going to replace. I have the wheel nut key as that was in the centre console. Cheers.

Agree much better to buy socket bar. Also I found the best tool to get the locking nut cover off is an old compass for drawing circles not finding north. Take out the sharp point and the wedge shape where the point was is a perfect fit to slot in behind the lip of the cover and it just pulls off with ease after a couple of tugs at each side .
 
What should be in a Freelander 1 tool kit since mine doesn't have one and wandered whats bits I need to buy to make one up.
