Hi all I have 2011 Freelander 2.2 when car is ticking over any demand on the battery eg turn steering electric window etc the revs go down a lot the bounce back Up has any one got ideas

In that case, the alternator may be knackered. I once had a peugot 405, brand new, with a similar fault. Eventually, the dealer changed the alternator and it fixed it even though the dealer had been saying there was nothing wrong with the alternator. The car had quite a few faults straight from the factory that the dealer denied, that's why I would rather take the bus than drive another peugot.

Had battery tested 12.1 standing when running 14.5 with heater on an turning steering wheel fluctuates 13.9 to 14.2 an that’s when the revs bounce

12.1 is pretty poor. I’d say your battery’s knackered, but whether that’s cause or effect remains to be seen.

Could be anything in the chain from alternator to battery, including cables and connections. Unfortunately we’re generally stuck with some young lad clipping on a battery analyser.

I’d check
1. Battery voltage after sitting overnight - at the very least 12.4V
2. Alternator output at the battery posts, and AC ripple at the alt itself, under load - say 13.5V
3. Voltage drop along main starter cables and earth straps under load - no more than 0.5V under cranking.
 
I have put a new battery on will see how it goes an it ticks over around 780 will have look at you tube to see how to check voltage at alternator
