Also, I have the 'Three Amigos'. Changed the brake light switch for a modified one but no different! Grrrr!
 
I am no expert, but it looks like it could be from the "Door locking cut-off switch" beneath the engine compartment fuse box.
 
Just discovered that the plug in the first picture operates the reverse lights when bypassed, just need to find out where it plugs into, the gearbox perhaps?
 
1. move the cable round to see where it will reach.

2. cable cut due to eggsource replacement? Looks like it's coming from the sensor.
 
Dropped plug down behind engine, crawled underneath car and had a look, plugs straight into the back of the gearbox.

Reverse lights now working.
 
Looks like the cut wire is what's left of the fuel rail pressure loom before the over lay loom was fitted.
