Hi All,
JUst bought a 2001 freelander td4 66000miles
full service history
All was great till this morning
Came home from work in it and then couple of hours later went to go out and wouldnt start just turned over didnt want to go.
left it a bit then the same again.
All I can think of is when I got in car it beeped to say that the battery was low on the key fob.
So I called the nice AA man and would you believe it started first time when he tried.
Any ideas what it could be been fine since.
Would cleaning my injectors with injector clean maybe prevent this?

Camshaft position sensor as first try.
Have a forum search and see if what you find matches your symptoms.

could be fuel delivery - worth checking the primary low pressure pump conections on top of the fuel tank. You'll see an inspection panel under RH rear seat. Visually check all electrical connections in the engine bay for loose connectors etc. Intermittent faults can be a right B**tard to find. Best do what you can manage within your knowledge without going to extremes

Thanks for that
was thinking about putting some injector cleaner in
is it worth doing you think?
also
is it worth changing the egr setup and blanking it off?
can you just plug the outlet or do you need the blanking kit?

Most on here use Millers Additive in fuel tank

for EGR modification, read the excellent article "stickied" at the top of page 1
