Hi,

I don't know if any of you guys can help as I'm not having a lot of luck with my local garages but my 04 Freelander Td4 is running like a bag of!!

Basically the problem started when it started revving itself when idle up to 2000 revs (this could happen when it had just been started or running a while), then it developed into a dead spot when driving (at any speed) if I kept my foot on the accelerator it would finally accelerate, then it developed into a rapid loss of power when I came off the accelerator (mainly at lower speeds) making for a lumpy drive and now the revs just drop right down and the engine warning light comes on (the car has also cut out a couple of times when driving or when briging the clutch up).

The problems are intermittent, sometimes it drives great then others times I want to push it off a cliff but things keep getting worse. I have had it in a few garages and they don't seem to know what it is. To date I have had an injector replaced, filters replaced, a sensor (dunno what for) replaced, off and on the diagnostics machine and now there talking about a fuel filter, which were done about 3 months ago when it was serviced I am no mechanic (far from it) but I would say this can't be a filter surely???
One has also mentioned the turbo???

Can anyone offer some advice as I'm sick of throwing money away and being stuck with no car?

Thanks

Could be the rail sensor and the wiring loom that feeds it had similar problem with mine doesn't always show on computer but if the management light comes on its stores the fault code something like e0109 changed sensor and overlay harness runs like a charm now get it plugged in to a proper diagnostics computer
