thanks for reply,,have the pump.filter and sedementer all out..i take it the pump is not servicable,,this all started with fuel from a garage i dont normaly use..last wed. i put £25 in on way to belfast and problem started..left car at home for rest of week and on sat cleaned everything out and put fuel in from normal garage and took the car to 60- 90 up the main road with no probs..on mon. my mate went to same garage n put £30 in and the car would only go 100 yards then die until he got the car home ( about 10 mile) have syphoned about a pint of fuel out and there is about a teespoon of muck-scum so was hopng it might just be filter...thanks in advance//////twice bitten...feckin costly...have added three pics for any one doiun the same ...pump on top ..filter below and sedementer sits to one side at rear three bolts hold this to car..one to top left of pump as you look at it and one just below but hidden buy the filter and the other is to the rear of pump with bolt goin up into chassis so you have to get on your back to get to this one..hope this helps...................................................................................................................
have now pumped out the tank..put everything back together and some clean diesel in the tank and took for a run and all seems well and hope it stays that way

Take off the fuel hose, the one after the pump,or the filter, turn ign on and the pump will push the old diesel out for you.

Old diesel is out (the fuel hose after the pump, just beside the el plug. Today after work will mount the new fuel filter and will put everything together.

Hope the best. Fingers crossed..

Ok,did you use the way i said to get the fuel out?.Hopefully you will get it sorted now, good luck.

Yes, diesel is out as you said - Thank you!...but still cold start problems. I got this code from the ECU with my iCarsoft - P0263..

Obviously injector #1 is the problem...

Seems like it,not getting enough fuel to it,or not injecting it correctly, better get it out and checked out.

look at this info,might help.
Diagnostic & Repair Procedure Inspect the electrical connector on the fuel injector. Look at the harness side for corrosion or pushed out pins. Check the injector for bent pins. Correct any defects and add dielectric grease to the connector terminals and reinstall the connector Start the engine. Use a long screwdriver with the handle to your ear and the blade to the injector, and listen for the characteristic 'ticking' noise indicating it is working. No noise means either it is not getting power or the injector has failed Using a wire probe on a voltmeter, probe the red power wire at the injector. It must show battery voltage. If no voltage is present there is an open in the wiring between the injector and the fuel pump relay. If voltage is present and the injector is working, it is likely clogged and needs to be cleaned Purchase a 'direct fuel injector flush kit' at an auto parts store. It consists of a pressurized can of injector cleaner and a hose connector to the fuel rail Remove the fuel pump fuse from the main fuse and relay box on the driver's side fenderwell Start the engine and allow it to run until the fuel pressure is exhausted and it stalls Pinch the fuel return line off using a needle nose vise grips Remove the shrader valve from the fuel pump test port on the fuel rail. Install the hose on the test port. Thread the can of injector cleaner on the hose and allow a few seconds for the cleaner to pressurize the fuel rail. Start the engine and allow it to run on the cleaner until it stalls. Remove the cleaner hose from the test port and reinstall the shrader valve. Remove the vise grips from the return line and install the fuel pump fuse. Erase the trouble code and reset the PCM using a common code reader Start the engine. If the rough idle continues and the code returns, replace the fuel injector.

The injectors will be tested on Tue at a bosch garage. They will not be removed but chekcked for returning fuel quantity. Hope that with comes cleared if the injector is faulty. Thanks

ok,good luck, lets us know the outcome please, nice to know what the results and fixes are.

yes will do. there are lots of threads hier coming up with this code when searching, but unfortunately nobody tells whats happened at the end..

thanks

So, i got the car from the Bosch garage..The leak back test was done, and they told me that everythung is fine with the injectors=The amount of the fuel in the small bottles was in all 4 equal. Unfortunately i wasnt there an didnt see that, but i should trust them. The car starts fine since the weekend., even when it is cold....I dont know what to do next...should i make the leak back test by myself? There is a leak back test kit in ebay for around 35 pounds.
Im confused...

The pressure in the injector rail is 280 bar when engine idles.

if the garage did the test, and it came back ok,why would they lie, they get no work by telling the truth.
