Ok guys I have 3 questions about my newly owned (but not yet delivered) freelander.

First question. I have purchased the extendable load cover as it doesn't have one, are these easy to fit or do I need to call in the professionals?

Second....the rear electric windows are not going up or down. The guy I'm buying it from is sourcing the parts and posting them to me for fitting. If my memory serves me correct I think it's the relay switches he's sourcing, again are these easy to fit or do I need to call in the professionals?

Last one, my dad thinks I would benefit from the freelander being chipped to improve on the mpg and he mentioned getting a plug in one from "chip tune?" Is or worth me spending the money on one or just let it go with the flow?

Q1 easy fit
Q2 depends on your skill level , and how even tempered you are
Q3 They dont need a chip , they are quite efficient enough for most peoples needs , performance and economy , you may not be most people

Q1 excellent can do myself
Q2 can follow instructions and do have my own well used toolkit. Will post for help when I get the parts
Q3 well I had a daihatsu terios plus with 80bhp so the freelander is gonna feel a bit nippy in comparison lol. I'm past the days of lots of acceleration and lots of bhp so think I might bite the bullet and decide for myself if I want I one or not.

Ask in the Freelanderer section about the Ronbox/Synergy for tuning. Big improvement on drivability and increase economy when light footing it.
 
Hi Sharon,
Be careful on electric windows, ive never had a "relay switch" fail but have had to replace all regulator cables on mine so dont assume correct parts are being sent.
As already mentioned, a properly running td4 is economical and pretty good on power and and doubts are likely to point to a fault somewhere I wouldnt splash out on tuning just yet, I would drive it for a bit and see if any faults become apparent.

Thanks musky81, appreciate the sound advice. I hope to start running it this weekend and will see for myself how it's fixed. As for rear windows, well it won't be sitting in the back so really not bothered just now if they don't work haha :D

I hope it's a good un too, don't want to be spending a fortune on it! The guy I'm getting it off is pretty sound and my dad had bought 6 4x4's off him and never had any problems so will keep me fingers crossed!

Thanks spacemonkey will do that. Think I'm gonna wait and see how it drives first and how often I'm at the Errol station before I decide :)
