Please can anyone help? My Freelander tailgate window has dropped down and won't come back up. When trying, it raises approx. 20mm, peeps and then goes back down. I have tried recalibration but to no avail. I have removed door lining, cannot see any broken cables. Can't get to the clamp nuts because the window is right down, so unable to investigate any further. Any ideas?

Have a look and feel for any broken cables or cable guides as they can fall off with age
Thanks Madmustang, I couldn't feel any broken cables but after skinned knuckles I did get the glass clamps loose and was able to remove the regulator assembly to find the plastic tensioner with the spring had collapsed. I have ordered a complete new regulator. Sore fingers crossed!

When raising it do you let go of the switch if so it will go back down try putting your key in the back door lock and turn it to the right until the window is fully up if you have tried this then please forgive me and by the way you can only stop the window where you want it on the downward stroke
