Could someone advise on my (big) problem?
The tail door of my Freelander refuses to open. The glass moves when pulling the handle but the lock doesn't open.
Can't open it with the key either. I am desperate. We don't have a dealer in the country and we must rely on local garagists.
Please help.

Sounds like a latch fault or the wiring to it.

The key is only used to wind the window up, it is not a lock.

Most probably it is the latch. How do I check the electrical connection out?
