Hi, im new to this site today, hubby wants to do an oil change on our td4 but is having problems removing the sump guard, anyone know how to do this or would it be easier taking it to a garage for the oil change?
any help is appreciated
thanks:)

ITS ER REET PAIN . . .[the sump guard] but follow destructions in the heinz manwell and all is revealed. . . .however a lot on here mod theirs for next time to make it easy ,this means drilling a big hole were the drain plug is ,so you dont have to undoo all the sump guard bits next time, if you diy on the td4 get a new sump drain bolt washer from dealers [dont fit cheap ****e] an do the oil filter at same time ,this is all an easy diy job. . . .un best oh luck earthling. . . . .:) :) :)

13mm bolts upto frt panel below radiator
2 x 13mm bolts on suspension arm either side
2 x 13mm bolts reet at back of guard

You take the lot off including the alloy framework

Thanks for the replies, hubby said he was trying to just take the plastic bit off !!!
He will have a go next wkend and see what happens.
