hi guys, just bought a 52 plate td4 freelander 1 with a little over 100k on the clock. i am having problems with trying to put it into first and second when the car is cold. the clutch was changed 30k ago with the dual mass flywheel (i believe). the clutch bitting point is at the very top of the pedal, but does not seem to slip when accellerating.

does anybody know what the problem is. could it be a dodgy flywheel, as i cant see the clutch being knackered after 30k of use (even if it was driven hard for the previous milage)

any help would be appreciated guys

Well it'd be worth doing again just to be sure. Plus as I've worked on mine it's become clear that many garages lie through their cheating teeth about things like transmission oil.

ah ok, cheers for the help :). ill ring the garage i bought it from and get them to do the work (might aswell use the warrenty when i can lol!)

You will find that it'll help, but if it persists then I reckon that your first and second gear synchromeshes are wearing out, I've got not idea how much that would cost to mend so might be worth getting a quote from them on that too.
