No wonder you get vibrations with those tyres lol......there a bit extreme for a Freelander. I've got 50mm lift, 30mm wheel spacers, camber bolts and 205/80/16 AT tyres. Been on for 2 years, and no problems (touch wood). :)

Did you fit longer brake hoses with the 50mm kit? Do you remember which kit/where you bought it from?

Yeah, longer brake lines fitted. Its a Bearmach kit, brought it off someone you had never fitted it, so had camber bolts with it too. :)

I'm looking into the possibility of a lift kit, but most of the time being realistic, it will be on road around South London and the south east.

Does a lift kit alter the fuel economy- I would expect it to make it worse.

Would a 40mm kit be the most sensible lift for my '06 TD4?

My car also has 17" wheels at the moment. Are there any 17" tyres to go with the lift? I currently have the standard size 225/55 R17 General Grabber UHP tyres.

Or should I be buying a set of 16" wheels?

On a recent trip, I done 600+ miles....mixture of town, country roads & motorways, with an average of 40mpg. :)

Wheel and tyre choice depends how often your going to go off road. :)

Tell it to this...Has had lift kit fitted for 40,000 miles with no probs, complete with bigger wheels and tyres has 4-5 inch more clearance than a standard freelander which is about 2" more than a standard 90/110 and plenty more than standard series

I've not read the complete thread so apologies if I am asking something already discussed but, do you get any rubbing on the arches? (Not your feet!) the clearance looks a bit tight especially at the back. You didn't consider cutting them?
