Hi all !

I'm one of many with a 2 wheel drive Freelander. I've found an ird for sale but it's off the 1.8 petrol and I have a 2.0 td4...Will this still fit mine ????

Cheers Mark.

yes it will fit fine, cooling pipes are different

its the main gearbox which is different

again people posting who dont know sh1t :D

Thanks for quick replies !

Td5driver......Does this mean i need to make any mods to anything or will it go straight on ???

It is identical, even the oil cooler pipes, only the V6 has a different cooler. yes the rubber hoses on a TD4 are different to a 1.8, but the actual cooler pipes they connect onto are the same.

And yes lots of people posting ****e

Yes that s how you remove it, you can do it on axle stands.

The way I do them is (and in this order)
Remove offside front wisbone bolt
Remove offside ARB drop link
Remove lower engine steady bolt
Remove 2 offside rear wishbone/subframe mount bolts
Drop wishbone and knock driveshaft out of ird
Remove 4 remaining subframe bollts (1 offside 3 nearside)
Pull subframe down and rearwards
Remove ird brackets
Remove lower 2 ird/gearbox bolts
Remove upper 2 bolts

This is about the best compromise between amount removed and access
