Hi lads and Ladies

Great Forum ive just joined need a bit of advice concerning fitting my o4 bumper to my 1997 freelander ive sorted lights all ok

Do i have to move towing eye and it appears to only have the one bolt on the sides

Any advice would be great

I work in the salvage industry and have discovered if anyone is dong this conversion the headlight plug need if you buy some lights (04) shape without plugs is from a BMW MINI

Yes all complete Dan just waiting on a new rear tailgate panel the small one I will upload photos very soon

1 Complete front end upgrade including wiper panel as these are rigid on later models and have rubber ends on early models

2 Complete rear end conversion including all lights and clear side lights


3 Very easy to do can be completed within a day

4 The most expensive part is the spraying and then the front headlights i got all the bits of ebay

are the arches the same colour - i've been looking around and all later ones look black and mine are grey - looks like that too in pic 10 or is it my eyes:)
 
i only picked my freelander up on sunday but i thought about facelifting it before i even got it home:D , what parts would i need to collect for the conversion? also what year should the facelift parts come from,any specific year?
 
04/05 parts

You will need front headlights plus bumper probably best to get a bumper without the fog light holes as foglights and surround cost appprox £120 which can be saved if you buy the correct bumper you will then need a rear bumper cover and both sets of rear lights and rear tailgat panel clear indicators on the sides to finish it off

Hi, i've just completed this upgrade today on my 98 freelander. I have got two headlamp wiring connectors from a rover 75 which fit great however - I have worked out which wires do what from the car and partially stripped the new headlamps so I can connect the wires from the headlamps to the old wiring from the car, I can't get sidelights to work and when main beam is on the indicaters glow!!! Anyone done this conversion who can tell me which colour fits to where I'd be very grateful!

Have 03 freelander and have facelife bumper and lights sourced, have been told that I need to change front panel to carry out facelife, Is this correct?
Would be grateful for any help!

Not if you're handy with an angle grinder!!! :)
Mine broke just as was starting the job (typical) so all I had was a hacksaw which did the job perfectly. The new headlamps are bigger and won't fit into the recesses in the old front panel so you just need to make them larger. I took about 2 inch from 2/3 of the bottom and they fit fine. Still having a nightmare wiring them up though!!! Is it possible to get the two blacks mixed up?
 
Mine s complete check the pictures in the link as for wiring i will check mine tomorrow have you managed to sort problem yet or do you still need advice Bella xx
