That set up looks good, but I prefer the flat style of the factory Harmon Kardon sub woofer.

Mind you, the subwoofer is blown and useless, so I took it out, along with the plastic enclosure, so I now can use the under boot storage. I don't know what I'm missing, as the subwoofer has never worked since I bought the car.

Is there anywhere else you can put a sub woofer in the car without losing storage space?

Would putting some Duramat in the doors help with sound insulation etc?

Where does that little jack box live if you have the factory sub?

The sub woofer lives in the boot under the floor in the storage compartment. The amp is under the front passenger seat and the 6 cd changer is under the drivers seat. The Becker head unit is in my loft

Yes I know, but where do you keep the jack? Normal ones without the HK has the jack in a little toolbox thing in the boot cubby hole/interior swimming pool.

The jack tool box is in exactly the same place as yours. The plastic boom box is shaped to go round the tool box

The HK sub woofer is only 6 1/2" and 50 watts if iirc. My sub moves much more air as i'v used a 10" driver which is being driven by 190 watts RMS!! The factory offering doesn't come close. ;)

That will beat mine hands don as I don't have one anymore.

the original sub that was removed is a dual cone or bi-amped as it has 4 wires attached....did you use all four again or just pick any two or join the reds & blacks together...cheers

The original HK sub was a 6 1/2" inch duel voice coil unit. I removed the sub and the HK amp from under the passenger seat. The original amp was pathetic as it was only 25 Watts a channel. I fitted a 10" sub and an amp that delivers over 175 Watts RMS. I sold the original sub and amp on.
