Hi. I think I've found an un-used socket for an autochanger.
(I think my vehicle has an autochanger facility, because it says 'load' on the CD button player on the unit - as in load multiple discs).

Do the cd players with the load button on them not hold 6 discs internally?
I think if you check you'll find you can load 6 discs into the head unit using the load button and the numbered buttons!!

No multichanger under the seats required!!! :D

"Load" would be used with one or multiple disks. It normally means that it hasn't found a disk and to load one.

Not to say they don't exist but I have never seen a single DIN head unit with a built in multidisk changer, only DoubleDIN. I can't see how they would fit the stacker and player in such a small space.

The head unit shown in that picture is a double din unit. I have the same unit in my 2006 FL, unfortunately the model without the load button! My handbook does explain how the load function works though however. (Covers both units) When I find it I'll scan the section explaining it and stick it up here.

this has got me thinking.
I have 1.8 freelander and the multichanger is under the drivers seat I am boing to buy a TD4(x reg) and it is listed as radio cassatteplayer,
I swiped my hand under the driver street and it was empty. iam just wondering if there is a multi changer under the passenger seat were they fitted as standard on all freelanders?

not all freelanders had the multichanger, some had one under the drivers seat and some had one under the passenger seat.

Hi. I think I've found an un-used socket for an autochanger.
(I think my vehicle has an autochanger facility, because it says 'load' on the CD button player on the unit - as in load multiple discs).

Quick look reveals, no Philips/Alpine unit under either of the front seats, or an amp. However there is one little grey un-used plug under the passenger seat.

Poking around further I found a large mystery socket at the front.
Location: Passenger footwell. Exiting from: Lower centre console to left.

Do you guys think this big socket could be for an autochanger?

Thank you for any ideas.:p
