what motor you got in it?

we had a beetle challange cup motor in a cabrio for a while, complete with huge holley carb ontop,
rev`ed like no other v-dub we`ve ever had, laid rubber in the first 2 gears...naughty naughty car that was,
so dam quick...

It's being rebuilt at the mo. I'm on the look out for a decent engine:) it came with a crappy 1.2. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1350474714.698369.jpg
 
does yours run mems 2 or mems 3? Simpliest conversion for a bit more go would be the engine out of a mgtf trophy - 160 bhp

i converted my 135 mgtf to the 160 and its pretty easy.

You could buy a whole trophy this time of year for around a grand, rob the engine and flog the rest in bits for what you pay for the whole car.

Ditch the vvc with pipercross blanking plates, 4 branch manifold, decent air intake and you can see 180 brake with the associated increase in torque immediately.

thats if you wanted the quick n easy route ;) You dont have have to take your engine out... you basically rob the head!

anyway! its the mems thats **** or the mems that you can reprogram quite easily...
 
Why go bigger? steady away is the new quick.
I would personally remove No3 spark plug and lead.
All the advantages of a small engine with out doing a swoop.
You can also go back when you want to tow your caravan on your jollies
(thats if you haven't thrown away the pug) :crazy_driver:
 
have just put a used 2.0 turbo out of an mgzr in a freelander

its still a pile of crap but it now moves
should have done the repairs on the mg and scrapped the freelander but the boss didt listen till its to late
