I'm having a few problems with my clutch mainly that a have to push the pedal right to the floor in order to access gears.

I have been reading up and I understand the clutch bracket can bend is there a an easy way of looking to see if it's bent or not, if it's not my clutch bracket I think I will try a new master/slave cylinder.

Thanks in Advance

Get on your back ,whip off the undertray ,remove the clip holding the slave cylinder in place . Keep the slave piston pressed, you could use a strong elastic band . Before my bracket broke, I took a look at it and it seemed ok .If I was doing it again I would have removed it from the vehicle completely and given it a good inspection .

If it does break while your out driving ,don't press the clutch peddle too often or you'll splill loads of fluid . If you do lose some don't worry too much , it should still work . Mine does .

I hope this helps , but I probably misread your problem and have led you astray . it happens all too often .

Thats perfect. Thanks I wonder as the bracket master and slave cylinder are so cheap it mite be worth just changing it to see if it solves the problem?

I haven't changed a master/ slave cylinder ,nor do I want to . It might be simple ,but I doubt it . Check the condition of the bracket , it could break ,leaving you and your motor stranded some miserable night . It is entirely up to yourself ,

Good luck .

I've been reading up. I think I will get my local garage to do it. Just to save any problems. Thanks for the input hopefully I'm nearing the end of the faults list with this freelander. I've only just got rid of my range rover due to never ending faults. Maybe one day I will learn not to buy landrovers.

Ok thanks. One thing I havnt checked that I will this morning is the level of the clutch fluid. Only just thought about it.

Thankyou for all the input So far

Oh dear just checked my clutch level opened the cap and some spilled out. I quickly put the cap back on not too much came out and the clutch still feels ok. I guess there is enough fluid in there.
