Hiya,
I've read all the other posts and see this is a fairly common problem, but not sure if there is a side issue with my landrover here..
Problem started a week ago when I reversed thecar out of the driveway in reverse. Then in the middle of the road went to put it into 1st, the clutch pedal stuck down on the floor (it's never happened before). When I picked it up with my foot the pedal would not press down as was incredibly stiff.
I've read all the other posts and felt quite confident the problem was the master/slave cylinder so took the old one out and picked up a new part online.
Last night re-fitted it and when fitting the slave bracket I was thinking "Is it odd that the clutch rod seems to be quite far away" (3-4 inches). When i depressed the clutch pedal slowly the slave extended and I put it into position in the rod, so thought was all okay. Then I tried pushing the clutch pedal down a few times and it was INCREDIBLY stiff. After doing it a few times I took the slave back off (to make sure all was okay) and now noticed the bracket was bent. Now I am not 100% sure, but I don't think it was bent before.
I've now ordered a new bracket, so that should be here on Monday, but my concern is if that is actually the problem.
How far away should the clutch rod be from the slave...Why would the clutch be so stiff when I re-fitted it all...could there be something wrong with the clutch rod and it is that bit thats stiff...
Any thoughts would be greatfuly received!
