Hi,
I'm after some AT tyres for my freelander TD4 (03 plate). ideally i'm looking to go for BF goodrich AT KO's.
Problem i have is, the tryes on my car at the moment are 215/65R16, and the closest BF goodrich's are 215/70R16. i'm just wondering what the middle number is? is it the profile? basically will these tryes go on with no problems. (everything else on the car is standard).

Heres a link to the tyres i'm after BF GOODRICH TYRES / 4X4 / BF GOODRICH ATKO ALL TERRAIN BFG AT KO - 215/70R16 100R RWL :: £112.60 :: 4x4 Tyres - SUV Tyres - All Terrain Tyres - Off Road Tyres :: 4x4 -R16" - 215/70/16, 215/70 R 16 ::

Also are they any good? is that a decent price?

any advice would be great.

Thanks, chris.

Thinkin about new boots for mine, might go for the grabber AT2, heard some good comments from other peeps..... (tax rebate due soon):D :D

I was thinking of putting some cheap AT tyres on my old 15" rims in case of extreme weather etc. So I could swap over.

But, I noticed Colway aren't around

any other cheap tyres?

Hi,
In the very near future I will need to replace all four tyres and after searching the net found these Agri Tyres Direct
They make a 215/65/16 tyre and after visiting the matador tyre website and reading about them I think I will try them.

I have the BFG AT 215/70R16 on my '99 freelander, great tyres! Look good on a Freelander.

Big question with these tyres is raised white letters in- or outside?

got general grabbers AT2's on myself. Look the part at 215/70/16. Will probably go bigger when i've got some spacers and a lift.

hummmm, lifting it, theres an idea??!! i'd quite like some bigger tyres myself but figgered they wouldn't fit.
Anyone any experence of lifting freelander suspention? whats the best option, had a quick look on net, was looking at ironman springs but don't seem to be able to find a supplier. any body any suggestions? also with a suspention lift what size tryes can i go up to? Thank you all for the advice on tyres by the way.

Thinking about getting some GRABBER AT2 AT 2 - 215/65R16 myself, is it worth going for the 70's. I will mainly be using this on the road, but when used in the mud/snow i need the grip. I understand these are great on the road too.

Any pics of these tyres fitted?

I'd say it is worth going for the 70's, they give the freeby more appeal overall. I've got a pic in my album with them on.

They're great on the road too.

what's the tyre noise like? Still good in the wet and dry on road? There gonna be used 98% of the time on road, just must have great grip when off road and in snow.

Cheers

Be careful, roof tent and slightly larger tyres turned top into overdrive on auto. If yours is manual will it make first too high off road, not a problem on auto as torque converter does the slipping.
