edge,

If no aspect ratio is marked on the tyre then by default it will be 80% - therefore the size mus be 195/80 R15 - Is this enough info?

I don't want to sound like a tyre anorak - but if you need more / all the dimensional data - just ask.

Ahem:) its 82% if not marked;) not that it makes any real difference

Hi, I've found some General Grabber all terrain tyres 235/55/17 - they look a lot 'taller' than my current road set. Will they be OK for the Freelander (2006 Td4 station wagon)? How can I find out the diameter of these tyres?
The thread is two years old

And it's a first post

Beg to differ Dr of broken land rovers!

This ones awesome:D 225/75/16 2" lift

Yeh, me too.
AND someone seems to forget his diffs.:D
Lowest point on mine is the sump guard.Still higher than a standard Range/Defender/Disco diff.Lifting a Freelander lifts the whole vehicle upwards. Lifting a beam axled Land rover lifts the body away from the axles. Axles will always remain the lowest point of any so-called "Real" Land Rover. How they seem to overlook this.

The standard (factory fit sizes) are/were:

195/80 15
215/60 15
215/55 16
225/55 17
235/55 17

Anything wider than 235 will hit the shocks/struts.

Unless you intend going off-road it is pointless going any bigger or wider.

Quite frankly for road use in the winter you do not need anything more 'aggressive' than the above sizes.

If you think you do - you have not driven a Freelander in the snow yet and are underestimating its capabilities.

Sell the big chunky tyres to someone who wants to look impressive.
Stick with the size you've got if you just want to get around when others have stuck.

Please tell me you made a typo, im running 215 65 16 just now and thought they were standard?
