2015 Land Rover Freelander 3 spied on the 'Ring

makes me glad i've got a hippo version '1'

i do not envy folk who maneuver their rr's 'n disco's down narrow 'B' roads with dry stone walling either side ..
even if i had the slightly wider hippo2 i'd struggle to get out of my street
what with the way my neighbours park their cars :)

if my hippo goes .. i'll be looking at a fiat panda 4by4 .. 'n get the engine chipped
( i miss my old mini .. and motorcycle .. when it comes to local 'B' roads :)

Looks just like the Evoque to me... If the final product is gonna look like that (and with similar dimensions to the Evoque too), how does Tata intend to market the 2 vehicles??

With Discovery 4 looking a lot like Range Rover and FL3 looking like an Evoque, I wonder what the new Defender will look like?

Int they just using the most convenient body to fit the same floor as the Freelander, if it is the new Freelander?

I must be getting old , it looks like all the rest , nissan , kia , etc etc

+1 whatever happened to that distinctive land rover shape that stood out from a mile away?? Even the freelanders upon their introduction could hardly be mistaken for any other vehicle out there....

Nope that's just an extended 5dr evoque tester body as it shares a similar weight and proportion to a freebie.

Terribel - TaTa LandRover - definitely not for me.

Get it? See what I did there?

Ta Ta LR

I can't do this - I must be getting old - Innit?

I ain't Captain Slow and I someday wish to drive the Nurburgring. BUT 1. I do not think it is the place to test a landy. 2. Hope they don't get all stiff with suspensions etc. Unless they plan a Race button which turns int into a Landrover GTR :flame2:

Is it not just an evoque?

It is! since the evoque hand the hippo have the same intenstines and properties, they are most probably testing on it in order not to reveal the true shape of hippo 3 like freelander 1 was an austin maestro van during testing :D

What I ain't sure about is: a few days ago we had a thread that Freelander will be discontinued as a name

I always thought the evoque was going to be a replacement eventually. As the evoque and the freelander appeal to similar audiences.

i like the look of the evoque but the practical side of me would rather have the freelander (load space)

Evoque is aimed at an entry level to the range rover brand. They saw a gap in the market as the rrs and rr pushed higher. More prestige than the LR side of the company. Evoque starting price is higher than the Freelander starting price. Evoque offers an open top version too. Although they both use the same floor bits the Evoque seems to be smaller inside.
