Hi guys. Got two problems i have with my freelander.
1. When i reversing i get nasty clunks and shs seems to struggle to reverse. From research i found it could be diff bushes are away. Im not sure??
2. My rear diff pinion is leaking and i was gona try and replace thw seal. ?
And one more thing when im driving around corners i hear what sound like rubber hitting the sub frame or somewhere underneat at rear.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciate

I would imagine the front mount for the rear diff is knackered - but more over, either you are running mismatched tyres (either make/model or air pressure) and/or your VCU is completely shot. If you do not fix your tyres and/or VCU you will (if you do not already have) serious transmission damage.

You need to search on here (or Google) how the transmission works on your Freelander to understand the importance of the VCU being in a servicable state and the importance of matching tyres pumped to the same pressure.

Try the 1 wheel up test on the car, which will probably show a seriously stiff VCU (causing transmission wind up) and you will probably need to remove your prop shafts & VCU (ie the bits between the front & rear diffs) permanently or until you fix the tyre/VCU issues.

Ok i will check my tyers and pressure. I dont really need the 4 wheel drive so might just take of prop . would solve my problems
