Had errors read now, nothing comes up, it's had new starter motor and still nothing! Can the dmf or clutch stop it? Do they have sensors?
Don't waste your money replacing things like the starter. The starter in the video was working perfectly. The engine has NO compression. There no point in replacing anything until a compression test has been performed.
hope u don't mind me asking plse
this is going to sound really daft but when doing the compression test , is it still the same old test of putting some oil down the bore to see if the readings improve
also would some live data readings be of use in this situation , can a temperature sensor stop the engine from starting
You can put oil down the bores if the compression is caused by wear. If the timing belt has slipped, bending the valves, no amount of oil will help.
Live data won't necessarily help with a slipped belt.
The engine will still run with a failed coolant sensor.
was just thinking ref the live data to test the new crank and cam sensors that has been fitted to rule them out , also seeing what the fuel rail pressure is
u think the belt has slipped then, if it has surely wouldnt the engine would lock up
would a hard reset help , seeing the crank and cam sensors have been replaced , so therefore resetting the main ecu back to its original and default settings or wouldn't it make a blind bit of difference
thks again , just interested , but like i said ur far more experienced than i am
If a timing belt slips. There's no reason to assume the engine would lock up. All that happens is the valves contact the pistons, which belds them. A valve with a bent head can't seal, hence no compression.
