Hi,
I bought a Freelander 2 sd4 xs
Had a lot of noise going on and the gears slipping (it’s an automatic)
So changed the front diff and the rear diff helped for bit.
Had the transmission fault came up as haldex pump failure.
Put a new haldex pump on all noises are gone now but gears still slipping especially when on gradient and feathering the pedal.
Can put foot down and drive through it if you know what I mean.
Anyone of you great guys can help
Me I’m stuck and don’t want to spend another fortune on something it may not be broken .
Any ideas guys ?
Many thanks Paul

The oil was burnt in auto box :)
Now I have new problem with the fault transmission failure ,traction reduced, special programs turned off.
The circular terrain switch not working lol
Changed the haldex pump last month fixed this issue and now it’s back :(
Any ideas lol ? Cheers

Looks like you need some diagnostics.

The car thinks/knows something is wrong - you need to find out what it thinks is the problem.

If you have the codes read it will tell you the component or give you a pointer to it.

What Haldex Gem 3/Gen 4 pump was fitted was it a genuine one, or an after market/refurbished pump.
Gen 3

Hi it was This one
It solved the problem for a month or so now fault back.
I will say that after fitting this pump the burnt all was changed in the gear box like what was suggested above.is if possible some of that old oil has re clogged up the Haldex filter after replaced ?
Thanks

How old is the battery? If it's over 4 years, it's past its best and needs replacing. The fault occurs when battery voltage drops too low on starting, and data to the TR module is lost as a result, hence the warnings.
Sometimes the fault only occurs on the first start of the day, as the warm engine is easier to crank over, resulting in lower current to the starter, which keeps the battery voltage above the data failure threshold

Hi there battery probably old
But it happens like a up to a minute or 2 every time you drive it :)
But maybe I change battery anyways ?

That's interesting, normally that fault appears after a start with a faulty battery. However these vehicles are extremely power hungry, so a decent, preferably larger battery is a must.
