If you can see adverts on this page selling car repair manuals, DONT click on them. They're sneaky adverts from google which detect words used in this fred, on the chance you will be attracted to click on said advert. The adverts are trying to get you to pay for manuals which you can get from the links below, for FREE.

This post provides links to download the Freelander 2 repair manual for free. Free as in you don't pay for it. There are a number of people selling the same free repair manual on e.bay. Don't be fooled by their advertising. They're charging you for the same information you get here for free.

This post also provides links to free copies of wiring diagrams specific to vin number. They're free to download anorl. Also free owner manuals you can download.

Freelander 2 repair manual and wiring diagrams 2006 - 2010 available in the link below:

The above download is from a new site I've only just started to use. I hope it will work for everyone.

This manual is free to download. 3229 pages of pdf manual. 291mb in size.

If the download stops working tell me. It may intermittently stop working occasionally.
Why would this happen? Free storage on the web doesn't last for ever. My free access may expire. The web site may close as they no longer want to offer online storage. I might delete it by mistake.

If anyone else has a similar manual for land rover products then please tell me. I would like to add it to my collection. If you have a later 2011 onwards Freelander 2 manual then I would like a copy. I would like a copy of any Freelander 1 or Freelander 2 manual you may have or find.

Hi Hippo, you wouldn't happen to know where I can get a FL2 (2013) Owners Handbook do you? Previous owner seems to have forgotten to leave it in my glove box!

Great thanks for the posts! It helped. I also need a new car battery charger. Do you know any good? Some of these maybe?

The ctek one in the link is good. Slow at 5 amps but it also has the battery rcondition option anorl. I have one.

How does it handle AGM's? I find that most "smart" chargers cater primarily to SLA batts, and those with AGM charging capabilities cash in on the fact with higher prices.
I have been considering a Noco Genius, just need to figure out a way to sneak that particular purchase past the wife

I'm running a fairly beefy aftermarket sound system in my FL2, which has a pretty decent electrical system on paper (180A Alt and an 80AH AGM as standard equipment), but Land Rover went and fitted a stupid "smart" alternator which regulates the alternator output via a separate bus. Busy researching a PCM/PWM mod to be able to manually control the alt's regulator, which will be awesome when I get it right

If you search for 'ctek 5 manual pdf' in google you will find the manual online. It has an agm battery option and copes with them ok. The FL2 has a more complex charging setup as it regenerates power when braking. My MY15 only charges the battery when needed.

I do tend to agree with you there, although I have a pre-facelift TD4 2010 model, which did not come with the stop-start option, not sure about the brake force charging though. Thankfully it is basically all Ford/Volvo internals so the info I need to achieve what I want to do is readily available. The only thing that is NOT available is the time to actually do what needs to be done!
There are enough dual battery conversions available which rely on additional charging system output, so it is something that is achievable, the only difference with my application is I need constant higher amperage output, maintained at around 14.7v constant, whereas the aftermarket dual battery mods rely on a relay to switch charging between batteries when each reaches optimal levels. One tip that somebody on another forum gave me is to have the heater switched on, which raises alt output marginally, although living in South Africa having a heater on at all times is a little uncomfortable

It's true the earlier FL2's didn't have the more advanced charging setup of the later models. So that should make what you want to do easier. If you modify the existing charging setup you may open a can of worms causing other issues. My MY15 SD4 can produce over 90 amps when stationary on tickover if I turn on lots of electrical items. Can't remember the volts but don't think it was at 14.7v. Slightly lower I would think. Can test it again if needed. The electric heater uses a lot of power. If it were me I would look at the after market options. If you start a thread in the main Freelander section you may find someone has done something similar. There are also many Disco owners who have a split charge or dual alternator setup. That may be an interesting option for you.

@Hippo The FL2 repair manual link is still working - really appreciate the assist for us all.
I have the pdf now on a laptop - is it me, or do the ‘hyperlinks’ not work?
E.g. on Rave, part way through a procedure, it’ll have a link to click through to another element in the process.
This manual looks like it has them too, but I can’t seem to get them to work… ?

Random example… shouldn’t a ‘click’ (or something) take the user to the ‘Exhaust System’ it is referring to?
