Today I bought a priming bulb instead of using the 12v pump as it pumps fuel too quick to notice anything going on , so on connecting it up to the filter and drawing the fuel out I noticed that there were a hell of a lot of air bubbles coming through and not clearing at all ,next I connected it back up and drew fuel from the tank fuel pipe connector which there were no bubbles at all, am I lead to believe the filter is the culprit ?
The first time it broke down the recovery driver had a Bluetooth snap on scanner and about 26 codes came up when the battery was low but when he got it started on a jump he ran another scan and there was nothing at all , second recovery something similar but no codes whatsoever , I've checked on a cheap scanner I have and still no codes .

The filter if aftermarket, or any of the O rings in the quick connectors can cause air to be drawn in. The fuel line is under vacuum, so any tiny hole in the line, will draw in air in preference to drawing fuel from the tank.

LR dedicated diagnostic equipment is needed to identify all codes, some LR codes don't come up on universal type code readers. However fuel supply issues won't give codes, as they aren't detectable by a code reader.

Finally it's running and although previous recovery and myself couldn't get a code up a mobile mechanic did and found that it was the crank sensor which I had replaced some weeks ago , fitted a genuine one at £110 and it started straight up ,BUT its now sluggish on acceleration . I have noticed one of the plastic connector leak off is loose , could this be the cause ?

How sluggish? Mine feels sluggish if I've driven the wife's VW Eos for a week. ;)
Check boost pressure with a diagnostic read, it might show up an issue with the throttle body, but normally if there's an error the ECM will put the MIL on.

No. If it wasn't sealed, it would leak as this engine uses pre-charged injectors, which have 10 Bar of pressure in the leak off pipes.

It used to fly up the hills by me but takes a while to get to 3000rpm
When was the last time it had fresh fuel put in it?
Has the fuel filter been replaced in the last 2 years, and if so, was a genuine filter used? Aftermarket filters have been known to cause performance issues.

Fresh fuel while it had previously broke down so 2 weeks ago , recent fuel filter ,purflex .it's like driving my old L series . I've also noticed fumes rising from the back of the engine

If you accelerate slow it's seems not too bad , it's just when you put your foot down that there's hardly any power and holding back ,There's also a slight misfire when climbing hills

Something isn't right there.
You can check the turbo actuator is free.
Also check the throttle body butterfly is free.
