Hi, im trying to sort out a few issues on our 2011 TD4 manual Freelander as id like to hang on to it , but every time i seem to end up with more! First problem i need to sort is a judder when pulling away in first gear which happens even with foot off the clutch... its got noticeably worse since having the rear diff changed and car serviced during which Haldex oil was topped up. Hoping someone may point me in right direction!

If it feels like thumping from the rear, then it's the Haldex at fault. The Gen4 Haldex is known to suffer from early engagement, which causes the clutch pack to lock when it's not really necessary, hence the juddering.
There is a mod called the scrabble fix, which is shown to solve the issue.

It's likely that the fault was always there, but the play in the worn diff was masking it. Replace the diff for one in spec, and the shudder becomes evident.

Follow what john states above, my FL2 had this, and the above solved it been great for a year now, and Matt is a great chap have a read of the link below.

The Haldex ECM comes off easily, as it's only held on by a few Allen head bolts.
