I had a clunk from the front end of my fl2, used to happen after upshifts in 1-2-3 and when decelerating in those gears, also when turning the engine off. Only sometimes, it was very hard to make it happen consistently.
It was like that for a year, and then one day the clutch slave cylinder gave out. New clutch assembly and DMF fitted - old DMF was knackered and likely caused the slave cylinder to fail. No more clunk.
The clutch pedal felt completely fine - no vibration in it at all - until the day it stayed stuck to the floor.
