Hi I think my freelander 2 battery is coming to the end of its life. 2011 so at least 8 years old. It’s a bit slow to start on a cold morning.
I spoke with Halfords (I get 20% off) they tell me a new battery will need recoding to the car. Is this right? Does it mean I can’t just remove old and fit new myself??
Thanks Paul

No, it means that if you go back to Halfords they are going to take you for a ride.
Of course you can remove and refit your own battery. There are just a couple of precautions before you start:-
  1. As @freelance has aleady said, you'll need the radio code, and
  2. You'd be advised to leave the driver's door open and the ignition keys in your pocket while you're doing the job, just in case the central locking tries to play up and lock you out.
