So how many litres/gallons is that and what's that in mpg? I recon on about 600kms to a tank on a run with my L Series (manual) and that's about 40mpg - so 290 miles (465kms) is about 31mpg. That would not be unexpected from an automatic TD4 around town. On a run you should get nearer to 40mpg.

My 2005 TD4 Auto will do approx 390 to 420 miles from full to empty doing the daily drives. More - obviously - on a nice steady run. That hasn't changed in 8 years.

I think the tank is 60L

That's about right for the TD4 auto. Mine didn't 29 MPG with the Synergy 2 giving moderate power increase.

Mine's the same the auto's mpg is crap around town, but on a straight motorway run it's not bad.

Thanks so I'm definitely not getting good mpg then

Well, by my maths, I'm around the 29mpg mark (+/- a bit) which seems to be there or there abouts for an auto TD4, but you're looking at 22mpg if you're doing 290 miles on 60L

Is that the size of the tank or how many liters you can get in it (or both)?

I think the tank is 60L but I tend to run down to fumes, and fill right up to the brim. It obviously varies but I've definitely put over 62 litres in the past.
