So how many litres/gallons is that and what's that in mpg? I recon on about 600kms to a tank on a run with my L Series (manual) and that's about 40mpg - so 290 miles (465kms) is about 31mpg. That would not be unexpected from an automatic TD4 around town. On a run you should get nearer to 40mpg.
I thought all Freelander 1's had the same size tank. The tank is supposed to hold 60 litres but I've never been able to get more than 50 into mine when its right down in the red.

Is that the size of the tank or how many liters you can get in it (or both)?
Mine's the same the auto's mpg is crap around town, but on a straight motorway run it's not bad.
