Oi!!! That was my line.I don't like to say I told you so, but I told you so.
Sounds like a plan.
Come back to say how you got on.
Is there an easy fix or is it new wiper stalks...?
I did an oil change when I first had the car using Castrol Magnatec 10W40,
And mine, Another IRD blown!Don't I know it! Cost me my transmission!
I don't think you'll get anyone saying "Yeh, she'll be right" (queue all the posts!) even if they are thinking it.
What I'm thinking is that you might be alright, but having got that particular T Shirt, I wouldn't do it.

I have a spare inlet manifold which I think is complete and OK if a bit dirty. Happy to let it go for a tenner plus postage. PM me If your interested.Another question for you Midge 68 or anyone else for that matter. I've unfortunately snapped 2 bolts on the inlet manifold (then found a previous post from you Nodge about how to tighten ). Any ideas how to remove the snapped bolts and what are the new bolts required. I was wondering if it would be easier to get a new manifold from a breakers yard instead?

Just wondering to stop any further damage would it survive with the bolts missing. Can't hear any air being sucked in.
