Hi,

With reference to a Freelander 1 2005 diesel and automatic. Anyone recognise these symptoms? Every now and then the motor won't start. It turns over but doesn't start. Have replaced the diesel pump so I'm thinking its electric. When it doesn't start it would appear to be preceded by the central locking opening all doors with the key turning in the ignition. Another gremlin it has, although I don't know if it is related, is the wing mirrors not opening or closing, sometimes, when pushing down the button. Unfortunately it appears to be unpredictable when happens so struggling to identify the fault. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you lock it with the remote when sat inside then put the key in the ignition and turn it, it will unlock all the doors as it realises your inside.

If you unlock it then get in and put the key in the ignition and turn it, and the doors unlock, this would make me think the original unlocking "procedure" hasn't fully completed form reason.

Interesting, do you think by opening and closing with the key, this would reset it in some way?
Not sure. I need to have a think about this and look through some diagnostic video's I took of the ignition door open thing and what changes before/after fob unlocked, and key turning in the ignition. Do you get any fault codes?

Wow, thanks for that. Unfortunately don't know what a fault code looks like. After it happened it went to garage for a diagnostic and as they registered a missed fuel flow the pump was changed, hence why think its electric.
