Last week I was burgled, and among other stuff they stole my Mercedes, and the keys to my laid up freelander, I only had 1 key and fob
I have a couple of questions,
1 how can I get in without a key or fob?
2 do I need to replace my ecu and locks to make sure they can't take it when I'm asleep or away from home.
, And if so do the injectors need coding to the ECU

I won't lie, I was going to sell the landy this summer, but it's now my only car again, and I can't use it, so I'm desperate but don't want to spend a fortune it.

Please help

The easiest way to gain access is to visit a landrover dealer with your vin number and V5. This should enable them to order a coded key.
I'm not going to post on a public board how to open a freelander and with all due respect, there's very few people I would tell. Please do not take this as a personal insult.
The injectors do not need coding.
Best of luck
Mike

Approximately £75 to £130.
You could try calling a mobile locksmiths that specialises in cars. They might open it for you once you have proved ownership.

I'm so p###ed off at the amount of uninsured loss I'm incurring at the moment, it's at about 400 without having to sort the landy out.

Bloody scum bags

Yes, its a right pain. And if you were in Rotherham, I would open it for you.
You do have my sympathy, but sometimes life's sh!t:(
And yes they are scumbags. And they'll probably get next to nothing for the Mercedes, usually druggies working for they're next shot.

Personally I'd go down the mobile locksmiths route. They'll do it all and probably cheaper than landrover.

Cheers mike, I'm with AA , so I think I'll call them they have a lost key service, see what that costs. Failing that I'll try a mobile guy

Lost of keys can come under insurance policy. I know mine do from Adrian Flux. But AA RAC and local mobile locksmiths would equally do the job. Got my fob key from a local locksmith who programmed it aswell.

If you do call in a Locksmith you may want to get him to replace the ignition key cylinder, if not all of the locks to prevent the thieves simply driving away with your Freelander..
You may be able to get a complete set complete with keys from a scrapper or off E-bay. Even if you swapped out the ignition immediately you could change the door locks at your convenience as they may be able to get in but they won't be able to start it.

where about are you in the west midlands if you are close then I could get into your freelander without any damage it is a freelander 1 is it

rac no use so looks like order new key with transponder as cant get copy as lost other in toilet, and then get a locksmith to program with eeprom im told?

What engine is in your car and what is the number/letter before the A at the end of the VIN?

That will point towards what immobilisation system you have on the car and the best way to get mobile again
