A local scrappy has a set of complete struts off a Petrol Freelander 1 and I want to know whether they will fit a Freelander 1 TD4.

I expect they will, but just want to ask those in the know.

Thanks

They will fit. But the alignment will be out, and I believe they aren't as strong as the td4 ones.
There was a thread on this the other week, and we were waiting for a Guinea pig to try it out. IT COULD BE YOU :D

Haha. Not wanting to be a party pooper, but on this occasion I think I'll pass on being the guinea pig.

The front shocks are the same but the 1.8 has a spring that is designed for the lighter engine. However there is also a difference between pre and post 2000 model years too. The rear shocks and springs are the same, regardless of year or engine fitted.

Cheers Nodge68. The lighter spring would make sense. Given I'd have to switch the springs over it seems rather pointless by a 2nd hand pair off a petrol engine.

Anyone able to recommend a semi decent pair ~ £50 each or am I talking Britpart at that price?

OE shocks are available for about £75 each which is the way I'd go. However I'd always replace all 4.

Only in LR catalog. Got monroe in L-series, those are the same for all model range, Just difference in springs

Rear struts and springs on MY2006 Td4 and V6 are different due to increased gvw and max rear axle weight. 2080kg raised to 2505kg gvw.
