Hi Guys.
Can you get beefed up springs for a Freelander 1. I don't want to lift the suspension as such but would like a firmer ride.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes.
The suspension on the 2006 Sport is standard ride hight, with stiffer springs and shocks.

Or seek out an aftermarket company specialising in suspension, springs and dampers, stiffer springs probably need adjustable dampers!

I fitted replacement springs made by Dobinson's in Australia. Slightly stronger and a little taller too. But rides comfortably.

It's interesting that they list the same front spring for the 1.8 and L series engine. The L weights twice as much as the K series lump. In fact if you fitted standard 1.8 springs to an L engined Freelander, the front would drop by 30mm or so.

Nope, 30 mm lower than standard and stiffer. Also shocks are shorter than standard.

I think Winu fitted this brand of spring to his beautiful L series.

Yup, use dobinsons for two years, now replaced for custom ones as car is to heavy for it. Those give a nice lift, and possibility of using larger wheels :)

So there is no parts for those :p. Sports springs and shocks got only one part number and starting from VIN 4A to end.
Standard springs are from 1A to 5A99999 and for 6A to end. - That could be the difference (maybe those are stiffer), but all of them are marked 'Less sports tuned suspension' . Or label on car "sport" is not equal for sport tuned suspension.

LR got only one sport spec (-30) for facelift as I see. :)

2006MY handbook has the same height for Sport and non Sport models, before 2006 different heights are quoted.

Mines a 2006 sport with the standard ride height stiffer springs. Colour markings on the springs are orange & white (front) pink &white (rears)

That's interesting white/orange from 6A Vin are listed as non sport suspension.
Well, probably in 06 "sport" spec is different for some reason :),

My mistake :)

2006MY Td4 and V6 have a higher gross vehicle weight and a higher maximum rear axle weight than previous models though front axle weight remain the same.
