This may seem like a daft question but can anyone tell me how much the removable hardtop for a 2 door freelander mk1 td4 (2006) weighs? I'm investigating using a hardtop hoist and at the moment have to rely on the other half assisting. As she can only just about see over the rear door, it does make removal and replacement of the hardtop a bit of a challenge and shoe lifts just don't cut it.
Has anybody ever used or made a hardtop hoist?
Any help on this appreciated.

Its a fair chunk more than 10kgs. I would guess more like 20 - 25.
I used to have just a single pulleywheel hanging from a bit of old seatbelt tied to a roof beam in the garage and a bit of rope over the pulleywheel. I made a sort of web with 4 old straps with hooks on the ends all tied together on the end of the rope - took a little trial and error with the length of the straps so it stayed level, but I could then just unclamp the hardtop, lift it a few inches at each corner and put a hook under the edge and once all four were on, pull the rope to lift it up to the garage roof and tie off the rope to hold it up there.
