Well I have finally done it and no I have not got rid of my beloved Freelander or the wife I have fixed the problem I have had for a good 18 months , what it was in the beginning was some one had put the vacuum tube on the wrong way round , I can not say who for definitely , it was the tube that came down from the main tube to the vacuum chamber and it does look like it goes to the front of the chamber but NO, it should go to the back and then of the front of the chamber that pipe goes down to the turbo valve, what the car was doing was on putting my foot down from a stop it would struggle along then pick up a bit of speed then go back to limiting again.so that was sorted but I still had a problem , this was when I put my foot down you would hear the engine speeding up then you would get the orange engine light on and I have had so many looking at it I have lost count and also lost count of the money I have spent, I have brought so called NEW? vacuum valves of the dreaded eBay at least people said they were new , so in the end I purchased a new turbo vacuum valve from landrover and the moment I got in the car and took it for a spin after it was put on I knew it was mended , so I hope this will help other out , do not go wasting money on Ebay unless you definitely know the part is ok, now I have to have sorted the oil leek between the engine and gearbox?

Its great news that you've gotten that vacuum / boost issue fixed! Thanks for sharing the diagram as well, I'm toying with the idea of replacing my vacuum solenoid preventatively, how much was the part from land rover if you dont mind me asking? And do you happen to have the part number handy?
