Was about to order replacement LED Lights for my trailer when a review pointed out they are not always comparable Any known problems connecting them to a Freelander 1 (2001)

You should have no problems as its not a canbus system it's an old fashioned hard wired system.

on my old one a 2001 td4 auto I put L.E.D. in the rear lights and it played havoc and all sorts of things were flashing on the dash took them out and back to normal but maybe on a trailer it would be different if so let me know I might put some on my trailer
